PADI Open Water Referral Course

The PADI Open Water Referral Course is great way for those who want to dive abroad. It allows you to complete all your theory and pool modules in your own time at home. This option then allows you to complete you open water dives at a PADI dive centre abroad.

The major benefit of this course is to complete your dive certification while still enjoying your holiday.

Standard Course £225
The Course starts with theory and pool modules carried out on a Wednesday night from 6:30pm or a Saturday Morning 9:30am. The course is structured with 5 consecutive pool sessions.

Tailored Course £325
This gives you the option to completely tailor make your course to a time schedule that suits you. We will work out a time schedule that both suits your needs and meets the course requirements. This can be done as an intensive course over four days or spaced out longer. So whether you need a course doing before a holiday or if you want that one on one tuition, we can deliver it

With our onsite heated pool (30 degrees), classrooms and large car park.  There isn’t anytime wasted going between the shop and local swimming pools. We only used high quality and well maintained diving equipment in the school, with separate equipment for both pool and open water training. We are also the longest running diving centre in the area with over 35 years membership with PADI,over 3000 students certified and hold PADI’s 5 star status. Our instructional team are highly experienced and passionate about diving.

what to expect

The Open Water Referral Course is split into four sections:

  • Knowledge Development
  • Confined Water Dives
  • Water Skills Assessment

Knowledge Development:

This is the essential theory behind scuba diving and is based as home study with a manual and dvd. There a five chapters with a knowledge review at the end of each chapter. We ask you to complete a chapter for each confined sessions. The chapter is then reviewed by your instructor who can explain any areas in more detail. Assessment is in the form of 10 question quiz after each chapter and a final exam at the end of chapter 5.

Confined Water Dives

You’ll complete a total of five confined water sessions in our on-sited heated pool where you’ll learn the basics of scuba diving and build your confidence.

 Water Skills Assessment

For the course you need to prove that you have basic water skills. This comes in the form of a 200 metres swim (any stroke no time limit) and float in water too deep to stand for 10 minutes.

Please note course fee does not have to be paid in full to start and can be spread over three payment:First. £75 deposit Second.£150 pool sessions and Third £175 Open Water dives

Also if you sign up to the PADI advanced open water course after 3 months of completion of this course you get £50 off course fee

What equipment do I need?

All the major equipment you need throughout the course is provided this includes full dive equipment. However, you must have your own mask and snorkel as a minimum for the course as these are personal items of kit. Other items we strongly recommend include your own personnel items such as boots, fins, and gloves for fit and comfort for the open water dives.

Requirements
  • Minimum age is 10
  • A PADI Medical Questionnaire must be filled in prior to confined water sessions. If you answer ‘yes’ to any question medical clearance is need from your GP prior to diving. Download Medical Form.
  • Be able to swim 200 metres and tread water for 10 minutes
