Feeling cold during a dive in your wetsuit or would you like to try UK diving but are put off by the cold? Then dry suit diving is the answer!
With a dry suit you stay completely dry underneath the suit and use thermal clothing to keep you warm. With these layers a dry suit has greater thermal properties and keeps you warm during and after the dive. Due to the dry suit containing the air the whole suit becomes your buoyancy device, at first this is a little tricky to master however, with the techniques and tips taught soon become simple.
Here at the Diving Centre we only use dry suits that are maintained and regularly serviced by our specialist in-house team.
The course consists of one pool sessions in which you can get to grips with the dry suit in a controlled and safe environment before heading to the open water. There are then two open water dives to complete. The skills that will be covered included: safely ascending and descending in a dry suit, buoyancy management, emergency skills and how to maintain a dry suit. There is also a self study theory book to work through with knowledge reviews and a short test at the end to confirm your understanding of the material.
We run this course once a month with the pool orientation carried out the Tuesday night before the open water session.
We also supply a wide range of Azdry Drysuits along with undersuits from leading suppliers, click here to find out more
Remember you can count you Dry Suit Diver Speciality towards your Master Scuba Diver Qualification.
