The Enriched Air Diver course is PADI’s most popular speciality with it allowing you stay in the water longer, get back in the water sooner and feel lest tired after a day’s diving!
Enriched air contains less Nitrogen by increasing the percentage of oxygen in the air you breathe and therefore increases your no-stop decompression dive time. The course will qualify you to use an enriched mix up to a maximum of 40% Oxygen. With the increased percentage of oxygen there are of course special procedures with: equipment, handling, dive planning and emergency procedures to consider, these are all covered in the course.
The course is mainly classroom based and lasts around 4 hours. There is also a self study theory book to work through before the class with knowledge reviews and a short test at the end to confirm your understanding of the material. The session also includes a practical workshop covering how to use an analyser to determine the enriched air mix and also how to mark up a tank.
There is an optional open water dive which can be taken as part of the course.
Remember you can count you Enriched Air Diver Speciality towards your Master Scuba Diver Qualification.
