The assistant instructor course is the next level up from the Divemaster and introduces you to the PADI system of education. This is a great way to gain experience before going for you full instructor qualification.
The course normally last four days and is usually run as the first part of the full Instructor Development Course. An instructor development course is broken in to two parts the first half is the Assistant Instructor coursed and the second is the Open Water Instructor course. You can do these courses separately are combine them together to suit yourself.
The course consists of a mixture of classroom sessions, pool sessions and open water sessions. Throughout these you will learn how to brief, evaluate and debrief divers in the classroom, confined and open waters. You will also work on your presentation and evaluation techniques and learn how to use all the different aspects of the PADI system.
