PADI Open Water Course

The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world’s most popular and widely recognised scuba certification. This is where your adventure truly begins.
All equipment is included for the pool sessions and open water sessions. The course is conducted by our experienced PADI Instructors who will guide you every step of the way.
We recommend purchasing your own mask and snorkel available in our shop.
The course consists of three main phases: Knowledge Development (online or classroom based), Confined Water Dives (pool sessions at our heated pool) and Open Water Dives (4 dives at a local dive site). Throughout the course you will learn fundamental scuba diving skills and theory that will enable you to dive safely and confidently.
Each DSD course qualifies you for a £20 discount off a PADI Open Water Course if booked with us within 6 weeks of your DSD
Skills Covered
Assembling and checking equipment, regulator recovery and clearing, mask clearing, buoyancy control, entries and exits, underwater navigation, emergency ascents, buddy breathing, surface signalling and communication
Course Structure
The course starts with knowledge development which can be completed via PADI eLearning at your own pace. This is followed by confined water sessions in our heated pool where you’ll master essential skills. Finally, you’ll complete 4 open water dives at a local dive site, typically over a weekend, to demonstrate your skills in a real diving environment.

Requirements
- Minimum age is 10 for Junior Open Water (15 for full Open Water certification)
- Must be able to swim 200m and tread water for 10 minutes
- A PADI Medical Statement must be completed. Some medical conditions may require a doctor's sign-off
