Bute – The return Friday 16th-Sunday 18th of September

Back by popular demand (or remand..we’re never really sure) We are planning what promises to be another brilliant long weekend at Bute.  We plan to drive up early on a Friday morning and be home around tea-time on Sunday with some great diving off the beautiful time machine-like Western Isle of Bute

Bute is one of the most accessible Scottish islands, just a short ferry ride across the Firth of Clyde.

It is a short trip from Wemyss Bay to the Victoriana meets art deco-style resort of Rothesay, with its palm trees and promenade. Attractions include Rothesay Castle, the stately home at nearby Mount Stuart, and some of the country’s best toilets (trust us, that’s what it says in the guidebook)!

For such a compact island, Bute has some extraordinarily varied landscapes. From the lush, fertile and rolling hills of the island’s heart to the craggy, heather-covered moorlands of the north and the delightful sandy beaches around the coastline, the island is a haven for walking, cycling, fishing, wildlife and of course diving.

This ‘informal’ weekend mixes a perfect opportunity to complete open water courses, specialities and social diving with beach bonfires, the traditional festival of potatoes in tomato soup and a great social night out.

Included: 2 nights B&B, Saturday lunch and air fills. For travel we use a carpool arrangement and this is organised before the trip. Price doesn’t include transport, ferry crossing and evening meals.
